2 busted in probe of SHU area narcotics sales

Fairfield police made two arrests after executing narcotics search warrants at Dover Street and Patricia Circle in Bridgeport last Friday.

They also seized "a significant amount" of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, according to the report.

The warrants were executed by members of the Fairfield Detective Bureau and the K-9 unit, with assistance from the Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Team, following an investigation by Fairfield police of a tip about narcotics sales in the Sacred Heart University area.

Anthony A. Johnson, 32, of Dover Street, Bridgeport, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, and interfering with a police officer. Police said Johnson also engaged police in a short motor vehicle pursuit before being taken in custody. Bond was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to appear May 23 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Lamar Norris, 28, also of Dover Street, Bridgeport, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school. Norris was released on a promise to appear May 23 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
