Bob Stone, a real estate agent for more than 30 years, has been installed as president of the Greater Fairfield Board of Realtors.
A partner in the Fischer & Stone Realty Group in Fairfield, Stone was installed to head the more than 150-member group on Dec. 4, he said in a news release. He succeeds Mary Beth Grosso, who headed the board for two years.
Stone is a Fairfield resident and a member of the Fairfield Board of Finance who was re-elected to a six-year term in November.
The Greater Fairfield Board of Realtors includes more than 150 realty firms, mortgage lenders, lawyers and appraisers, according to its website.
Stone obtained his agent's license in 1981 and has worked full time in the industry since 1995. He worked for Coldwell Banker and William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty before he and Marlene Fischer formed Fischer & Stone two years ago.
Fischer & Stone is a William Raveis affilliate.
Stone is a former president of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce and former director of the Connecticut Association of Realtors.
He is a past winner of the Greater Fairfield Board's Yvette MacDonald Award, presented anually to the board's "outstanding real estate associate of the year," and a former Bridgeport Regional Business Council business person of the year.
Stone and his wife Roberta have three grown children.
