A new Neapolitan restaurant is planned downtown at the Brick Walk in space previously occupied by another Italian restaurant, Ponte Vecchio Trattoria.
When it opens in the 1275 Post Road commercial complex, Brick + Wood will feature wood-fired pizza, Italian street foods and what the owners call "the area's first all-tap wine service" -- 26 taps drawing wine from wood casks.
An early fall opening is planned, according to a news release. The restaurant is being developed by members of the family that ran Ponte Vecchio.
Brick + Wood proprietors Clara and Paolo Cavalli recently returned to Connecticut from Texas, where they launched a wood-fired pizzeria that now has two locations in the Dallas area, according to the release.
The Cavalli family also has operated Luigi's restaurant at 170 Post Road since 1976 and opened Ponte Vecchio in 2003.
