Blake Buna, 20, of New York City was charged with operation of a motor vehicle by a person under 21 years of age while under the influence and several other violations early Saturday.

A 20-year-old New York City motorist was arrested on alcohol-related charges early Saturday at the corner of Fairfield Beach Road and Reef Road.

Blake Buna was charged with operation of a motor vehicle by a person under 21 years of age while under the influence, possession of alcohol by a minor, drinking while operating a motor vehicle, second-degree forgery and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police said the 2013 Chevy Cruze that Buna was driving had stopped with its engine running at the intersection of Fairfield Beach and Reef roads about 2:04 a.m. Saturday. The car was blocking traffic and several passersby attempted to enter it before officers approached, according to the report.

Police said officers found an open Corona beer in the center console and that Buna failed field sobriety tests. Buna had a New York driver's license with a false date of birth and told officers that he didn't have a valid driver's license, police said

Buna was released after posting $200 bond and was scheduled to appear Feb. 25 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
