A concert to benefit relief efforts in the Philippines has been rescheduled for Friday evening, Jan. 31, in the Fairfield Ludlowe High School auditorium.
The concert, which features six musical acts, had been scheduled Jan. 3 but was postponed because of a snowstorm.
The show is sponsored by the Town Youth Council and Parks and Recreation Department, and the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross relief efforts in the Philippines, which was devastated by a typhoon Nov. 8.
The concert is planned from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $5 (children under 2 free). Refreshments will be sold and prizes raffled. Raffle ticket and refreshment proceeds also will go to the Red Cross, sponsors said.
Super Typhoon Haiyan -- one of the most severe natural disasters on record -- left an estimated 4 million people homeless and killed nearly 6,000.
Sponsors said all six musical acts would be family friendly. The performances from 6:30 to 8 p.m. would be the most suitable for families with young children.
