Pharoah Eaton, 18, of May Street, was charged Monday afternoon with having a weapon in a motor vehicle.
Police received a call around 4:15 p.m. from a resident on Park Square Court reporting a fight between juveniles. When officers arrived, they saw three people trying to get in a car, and one then tried to walk away. All three were detained by police, who said they detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car, but a search turned up no drugs.
However, police found a double-edged knife with an 8-inch blade in the pocket of the driver-side door, which Eaton said he was planning to pawn, according to the report
He was released on a promise to appear April 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
