Investigation of an assault on a woman reported last week at the Tunxis Hill Shopping Center has so far yielded no leads, police said Wednesday.
No one involved in the incident the night of June 5 has come forward, and the license plate number of the suspect's car given to police proved to have no match.
Police, based on the reports of witnesses, at this point theorize the attack may have been a domestic dispute.
One witness of the incident told police he saw a man punch a woman in the face several times, while a second witness said she saw the woman lying on her side near an ATM machine at the shopping center When the witness got out of her car to check on the woman's condition, she saw the victim had a bloody nose and said she'd been beaten.
At that point, an older blue Toyota Corolla pulled up and the driver, a man in his 20s, grabbed the woman by the arm, dragged her into the passenger seat and drove off, witnesses told police. There was a child's car seat in the vehicle, but there was no child in the car.
