The Eunice Dennie Burr Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution marked its 120th anniversary with a dinner at the Black Rock Yacht Club in Bridgeport on May 15.
The chapter's charter was issued on May 11, 1894, and "Mrs. William Glover" was the first regent, the chapter said in a news release.
That charter is on display at the Old Academy, where the chapter is headquartered.
The document is framed in oak that was taken from beams in the houses of Glover and a "Mrs Hobart," according to the release.
The national DAR was founded in 1890.
During the local chapter's anniversary celebration, 13 toasts were given to various patriots and military figures in remembrance of the 13 toasts given at George Washington's 1796 farewell dinner for this officers at the Fraunces Tavern in New York City, the chapter said.
