Waves of fun, even as the sun set slowly on a beautiful midsummer night, washed ashore among the crowd still at Jennings Beach.
The occasion was one of the Sand Jam Movie Nights, organized by the town's Parks and Recreation Department. The dance party and screening of the Disney movie, "Monsters University," drew hundreds of people.
Disc jockey Marvin Parsons got things rolling with top-40 tunes and trivia questions, while Paul Herman of Double Up Dance Group led the sand dancing.
As the sun set and the moon rose over the beach, parks and recreation program director Ginna Paules fired up the DVD player, projecting the movie on a large inflatable screen.
