A Bridgeport man was arrested and charged on a warrant Tuesday morning in connection with a stolen check scheme.
Dayquan Jackson, 25, of Jane Street, Bridgeport, was charged with second-degree forgery and third-degree larceny, and released to the custody of the Wilton Police Department, which also had an outstanding warrant for Jackson's arrest.
Police said Jackson withdrew money from an account at Patriot National Bank in Fairfield opened in April by his cousin, Stratford resident Eric Watkins. Watkins deposited forged checks stolen from a Westport resident, according to the report. Between Watkins and Jackson, police said, they withdrew a total of $2,500 from the account, police said.
Watkins was arrested on the same charges as Jackson earlier in December.
Jackson is scheduled to appear Jan. 14 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
