A 62-year-old Fairfield motorist was charged with driving under the influence and failure to obey a stop sign after an accident late last Friday on Mill Plain Road.
Thomas Larson, of Stillson Road, was driving north on Mill Plain Road about 11:08 p.m. Friday when police said he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a car that was turning left out of Fairfield Ludlowe High School. No one was injured in the crash, according to the report.
Both vehicles, however, suffered substantial damage that indicated Larson was driving at a high rate of speed, police said. Larson also failed field sobriety tests, police said.
He was released on $100 bond and was scheduled to appear Feb. 28 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
