Robert Alvarado, 38, of Sunset Avenue, Trumbull, was arrested for driving under the influence early Sunday.
Alvarado was seen by an officer driving down Carter Henry Drive shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, and his car was straddling the road's center traffic line, police said. He made such a wide right-hand turn onto Mill Plain Road that it swerved into the opposite travel lane, according to the report.
When stopped by police, Alvarado appeared dazed, according to the report, and had glassy eyes. Police discovered his vehicle's registration had been suspended for lack of insurance, police said.
Alvarado failed field sobriety tests, police said, and was taken into custody. He was also charged with operating under suspension, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to drive right.
He was released on a $100 cash bond and is scheduled to appear March 31 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
