Officers were dispatched to Gould Manor Park last Thursday to investigate the report of a possible drug overdose.
A man was on the ground in the grass near the playground about 7:30 p.m. and, according to the report, four wax paper folds, typically used to hold heroin, were found next to him.
A Little League game was going on at the time.
When officers arrived, they said the man was responsive and breathing again. Under questioning, police said he admitted that he had taken heroin.
The man, who was not identified, was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport.
