A 54-year-old Easton woman, who a witness said was swerving all over the road and almost struck other vehicles and pedestrians, was charged last Thursday night with driving under the influence.
An officer on patrol around 8 p.m. saw a car driven by Diane Baker of Rock House Road, Easton, had pulled to the side of North Benson Road, near Osborn Hill Road. One tire of the white Lexus was on the curb, according to the report.
The driver of a car directly behind the Lexus told police it had been swerving from curb to curb, and nearly caused several collisions.
As the officer approached Baker's car, she started to drive off, police said. The officer caught up with the car near Reid Street and pulled it over.
Baker was released after posting a $100 bond and is scheduled to appear June 30 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
