Tickets for the town's 375th anniversary "Grand Gala" go on sale Tuesday.
The Nov. 15 gala at Sacred Hear University's Pitt Center is considered by organizers one of the top events in the year-long observance of the 375th anniversary of Fairfield's founding in 1639.
The public is invited to attend the event, from 7 to 11 p.m., on the SHU campus, 5151 Park Ave. The program will include cocktails, dinner and dancing, with music performed by Band Together CT.
Marlene Battista, Lee Crouch and Julia DeMeo, are the co-chairwomen of the gala.
Tickets cost $150 each, and can be purchased online at www.fairfield375.com, or by mailing or bringing checks to the Office of Community and Economic Development, Old Town Hall, 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824; Attention: Grand Gala Committee. Checks should be made out to Town of Fairfield.
"The Grand Gala is a unique opportunity for our community to come together and commemorate a truly historical moment," First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in a statement. "Not many towns in Connecticut have Fairfield's rich history and we are thrilled that this historical anniversary will culminate with the Grand Gala on Nov. 15."
