Till the last Christmas tree is sold: Troop 82 Scouts prepared for tough winter weekend

With temperatures plummeting into the lower-20s Thursday night -- and a weekend snow storm on the way -- members of Boy Scout Troop 82 nonetheless were prepared for another weekend of the troop's annual sale of Christmas trees.

Jaimin Vyas, 12, and his father Amish joined Joe McKee, 14, and his father John at the sales lot at First Church Congregation, corner of Beach and Old Post roads. It is accessible from either Old Post Road or the church parking lot off Beach Road.

Trees were sold for $40 apiece.

The weekend's remaining sale hours are: 7-9 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

John McKee said the scouts would be onsite until the last tree is sold.

Asked whether the four were concerned about the night's cold temperatures, McKee said, "We're scouts, we're tough. This is what we do."
