Fairfield Sr. Babe

Ruth 2014 season

Fairfield Senior Babe Ruth is accepting applications for the spring/summer season from all players who reside in Fairfield who were born between Jan. 1, 1995 and May 1, 1998.

The fee for this year's team will be $275. The cost covers uniform and all league-related expenses.

Players interested in being on the Senior Babe Ruth team this year are asked to contact Alvin Prusoff at 203-255-9975 or by emailing him at aprusoff@optonline.net.

Wildcats football

The Fairfield Wildcats Youth Football League will conduct an open house on May 19 at Tomlinson Middle School from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

for Half Marathon

The Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half Marathon, set for Sunday, June 22 this year, was named one of the top races in the country by FlipKey.com, which is the vacation rental company for TripAdvisor. FlipKey selected the best race to travel to in each state. Fairfield's race got the nod .

The Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half Marathon made the list of the FlipKey.com's "2014 Top Marathons & Races Worth Traveling For." The 13.1-mile local race, staged at Jennings Beach, won the award from "industry research" and feedback from travelers, the website said this week.

The Fairfield Senior City baseball team is looking to add players. If you are playing, or have played college baseball, and are looking for a team this summer, call David Boback at 203-256-3283.
