Fairfield police: Latest scam pay fee to avoid arrest

FAIRFIELD - Police are warning residents of the latest phone scam.

Pay a fee to avoid arrest and expensive legal fees.

The department tweeted: “Scammers claiming to be @FPDCT seeking fee to avoid arrest & legal proceedings. @FPDCT does not collect such fees. THIS IS A SCAM, JUST HANG UP! Share with family, friends & neighbors - especially the elderly. Call 203-254-4808 with questions/concerns.”
