Perfect day for Fairfield Easter egg hunt

It was a beautiful day for an Easter egg hunt with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds of children and their parents were on hand at the South Pine Creek soccer field on Old Dam Road in Fairfield for the traditional egg hunt.

Before the mad dash for colored eggs began, many took time to meet and be photographed with one of two Easter Bunnies on hand. There was also a person dressed in a chicken costume.

The hunt -- for preschoolers up to third-graders -- lasted only a few minutes with all the eggs quickly snatched up by children.

The eggs were filled with candy, gold coins, pencil erasers and plenty of memories.
