Argument in parking lot leads to two arrests

FAIRFIELD — A Massachusetts man was arrested Sunday night after witnesses said he allegedly slammed his girlfriend’s head into the side of his truck.

The girlfriend, police said, was intoxicated and scratched her boyfriend’s neck, threw items out of the truck and deliberately locked the keys inside. She was also arrested.

Eric Ames, 46, of Pittsfield, Mass., was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court July 23.

His girlfriend, Jennifer Hoda, 47, of Churchhill Road in Washington, was charged with second-degree breach of peace. She was released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on July 23.

A witness called police around 11:30 p.m. to report the incident.

Ames said he wanted to leave the Fairfield Theatre Co. because Hoda was intoxicated. As they walked to Ames’ truck, he said Hoda began screaming at him and scratching him, before throwing things out of the truck and locking the keys inside.
