Family game nights set at libraries

The Fairfield Pubic Library has planned a series of family game nights this summer at its main and Fairfield Woods branches, plus an all-day family board-game day on a Saturday in August. All of the programs are free, but advance registration is required, library officials said. The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, July 16: Bunco, 6:30 p.m. at the main branch, 1080 Old Post Road. Suitable for families with children in first grade and above, bunco is a fast-moving dice game in which players switch tables and partners as the game progresses, library officials said. For those who have never played, rules will be reviewed before the program and help will be available.

Wednesday, July 23: Bingo, 6:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Woods branch, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road. The classic letter-and-number-matching game is suitable for all ages.

Thursday, July 24: Family Game Show Night, 6:30 p.m., main branch, 1080 Old Post Road. Families will test their trivia knowledge in a "Jeopardy"-like quiz tournament.

Saturday, Aug. 2: Family Board Game Day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., main branch, 1080 Old Post Road. Families may drop in at any time to play favorite board games or discover new ones.
