Letter: Senior tax relief plan is little help

Our first selectman says the town wants to help seniors retain their homes. Maybe he's finally realizing how little seniors cost the town. He also wants a 2.67 percent tax increase. Have all you seniors been given a 2.67 percent increase in your Social Security benefits? I don't think so.

Have you seen the town's senior tax-relief program? Wow! Do they really think this is going to help seniors stay in their homes? Many towns and states freeze seniors' taxes at a certain age.

The town's senior tax-relief program offers very little help. The town could and should do better.
