Liquor store robbed at gunpoint

Police are looking for two men, one of them armed with a gun, who robbed a Brooklawn Avenue liquor store last Friday night.

A hold-up alarm at Brooklawn Liquors, 752 Brooklawn Ave., was triggered shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, followed by a call to police from the manager.

One of the suspects pushed the owner into a shelf, and a small, silver, semi-automatic pistol was displayed, according to the report. The pair made off with about $1,000 and fled on foot toward Bridgeport.

Police said a customer in the store at the time apparently did not realize that a robbery was occurring, and no one was injured during the incident.

One of the suspects was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, and the other was in a gray hooded sweatshirt, police said.
