Operation Hope's annual tag sale -- one of the biggest in Fairfield -- starts Aug. 2

The Operation Hope annual tag sale will take place this year on Saturday, Aug. 2, and Sunday, Aug. 3, at First Church Congregational. One of the organization's largest fundraisers, the tag sale will include furniture, household goods, jewelry, pictures, paintings, linens, toys, gaming systems, outdoor goods, sports equipment, plus many more items for sale. A concession stand, hosted by the Fairfield Rotary Club, will be open during shopping hours, and there will be a raffle. Operation Hope is a Fairfield nonprofit organization that helps the homeless and disadvantaged.

"Our 24th annual tag sale is a fun way for local residents to help Operation Hope," said Carla Miklos, Operation Hope's executive director. "The donated items don't end up in the landfill, but instead have a chance to find a new home. And the buyers not only get a bargain, but also help fund services that support our struggling neighbors."

Donations will be accepted from Monday, July 28, through Thursday, July 31. Operation Hope welcomes donations of furniture, household goods, jewelry, linens, pictures/paintings, toys, gaming systems, newer electronics, bikes, outdoor and sporting goods. Items that will not be accepted are bedding, televisions, computers, monitors, clothing, shoes or books. Furniture may be donated at 148 Beach Road during scheduled donation times, but cannot be picked up by Operation Hope.
