FAIRFIELD — Police are looking to identify two women they said stole a shopper’s wallet at Whole Foods Feb. 26.
According to the police report, one woman walked in front of the victim’s shopping cart, pretending to get something from one of the shelves. While the victim’s back was turned, the second woman reached into her purse, which was in the shopping cart, and removed the wallet. They both then walked away.
The suspects were described as Hispanic. One was wearing a black jacket, gray shirt, blue jeans, a black hat, and tan boots. The other was wearing a long, black coat, dark tights, and tan boots.
The wallet, which was worth $1,500, contained four credit cards, three debit cards, and $80 in cash, along with a business check made out for $5,200.
The victim discovered the wallet was missing when she went to pay for her groceries.
