Women voters set talk on state politics

A Sacred Heart University government professor who wrote a book about Connecticut's 2012 U.S. Senate race will offer his insights on the state's mottled political landscape at a program Wednesday evening, April 2, at SHU's Shine Auditorium.

The 7 p.m. program features Gary L. Rose, author of "No Holds Barred: The 2012 Connecticut Senate Race," and is sponsored by the Fairfiled League of Women Voters.

The talk is free.

The league said Rose would address the question, "Are we mavericks or simply a mess?"

He is expected to discuss Connecticut's intra-party warfare; the legacy of former Sen Joseph I. Lieberman; spending levels and attack ads; the role of outside money and endorsements; strategies for mobilizing voters; the health of Connecticut's two-party system, and the future of Connecticut politics.
