Girls lacrosse clinic at Warde April 5

The Fairfield Warde high school girls lacrosse team will be conducting a clinic for girls in grades three through eight on Saturday, April 5 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Tetreau-Davis Field at Warde.

Fairfield American fundraiser Saturday

The Fairfield American Little League will host its second annual Spring Party and Auction on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the at the Sportsplex fieldhouse, 85 Mill Plain Road. This is a fundraising event for equipment and field improvements and is limited to 21-and-older.

There will be silent and live auctions, an all-you-can-eat Super Duper Weenie Truck, hard and soft drinks, music, televised NCAA Tournament games as well as a Corn Hole tournament. Cost is $40 per person.

Little League softball enrollment open

Registration for Fairfield Little League Girls Softball's T-Ball and A Ball programs is still open but will close on Sunday, April 6.

T-Ball and A Ball is designed for girls who turn six, seven, or eight years old this year. Coaches teach softball fundamentals and develop their skills while focusing on having fun.

The spring season runs from late April through mid-June. Registration costs $110 and includes team uniforms. Registration is available at fllgs.org or by email through info@fllgs.org for more information.

Wakeman lacrosse registration open

Registration has begun for the spring lacrosse season at Wakeman Boys and Girls Club Southport Clubhouse. The Wakeman in-house lacrosse program is a fit for all players, beginners through advanced.

To register, please visit www.wakemanclub.org. The fee for boys and girls in grades three through eight is $155; for the instructional clinic for first- and second-grade boys and girls, the fee is $75.

Giants prepare for 48th season

Fairfield Giants Youth Football League registration opened March 15th for its fall 2014 tackle football (ages 7-15), NFL flag football (ages 5-10) and cheerleading (ages 7-15) programs.

Fairfield Junior Football is a member of Southern Connecticut Pop Warner and is an age/weight-matrix based program. This matrix allows for players to play with participants their own size and weight.

The League will host open houses beginning in April.

Each session will focus on general Information on Giants tackle, NFL flag and cheer programs, and will be run by coaches, league officials and parent volunteers. A Safe Play showcase will explain the new "heads up football" style of play and training/certification that all coaches are mandated to perform.

`Show Me' summer basketball camp

Boys who will be in grades four through nine for the 2014-15 school year are eligible to enroll in a basketball skills clinic on July 7-11, from 9 a.m. to noon, in Fairfield Ludlowe High School's two gyms.

It will be conducted by Ludlowe boys basketball coach John Dailey, with help from high school and college players.

Cost is $175 for each clinic camper.

Those interested in participating must send to coach Dailey a form with name, address, city/state/zip code, email address for comfirmation, phone number, age and grade of student-camper during 2014-15. Checks must be made payable to coach Dailey and sent by USPS to him at 248 Old Post Road, Fairfield 06824.
