Rose of Hope tennis

The Beth Davis Rose of Hope tennis tournament is scheduled for Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield on Sept. 9, starting at 9 a.m.

The tournament is a fundraiser for the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center's community outreach programs, and plans to draw players from southern Fairfield County.

The Breast Care Center has served more than 20,000 women and their families since it was established in 1999. The center's office is at 111 Beach Road in Fairfield.

Fairfield Little League

Registration has already begun for Fairfield Little League Girls Softball's Fall Ball season.

The league is open to any girl in town going into grades one through 10. The fall season runs from Sept. 5 through Oct. 28.

The league will field teams in the following divisions: A Ball, AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors.

Registration ends Saturday and entry fees are $85 for A Ball and $110 for all other levels.

Junior Babe Ruth

Fairfield Junior Babe Ruth is accepting registration for its Fall Ball League for 13- through 15-year-olds.

Players who recently graduated from the Fairfield National and Fairfield American Little Leagues are also eligible to play. Players who have turned 16 since the spring Babe Ruth season ended are eligible to play in the autumn as well.

Games will be played on weekends from Sept. 13 through Nov. 2.

There will be two divisions -- Prep for 12- and 13-year-olds and Major for 13- through 15-year olds. Coaches recommendations will help determine whether some 13-year-olds are able to play in the Major Division.
